Technically, this is a coworking space. It’s hands down the best place both to get work done and to socialize with other digital nomads in Hoi An, but if you’re strictly looking for cafes, no worries – the rest of this post is dedicated to them :).

Bonte Cafe, located just outside the old town in Hoi An, is the go-to spot for locals seeking a cozy hangout, as well as a productive work and study environment.
This three-story café has lots of seating. If you’re seeking some peace and quiet, head on up to the third floor where they have a designated air-conditioned room. It’s equipped with long tables and individual desks as well. It really is one of the best places to work in Hoi An.
Mornings can be quite bustling, but don’t worry, the café starts to clear out around lunchtime, leaving the whole place virtually empty.
If you want to make use of the upstairs space, there’s an extra fee of 5000 VND. But the drink prices are super reasonable and some of the most budget-friendly we’ve come across.
They do amazing Vietnamese coffee and it’s well worth the visit just for that! When it comes to food options though, they’re a bit limited. So, be prepared to venture elsewhere for a meal.
SnapStay Hoi An

SnapStay Hoi An is a cafe, hostel, bar – all in one!
The café area is seriously on point. It’s filled with good vibes and cozy corners, not to mention the refreshing blast of cool air from the AC. But the real magic lies in the host— he is always sporting a welcoming smile, they make every visitor feel right at home.
They have comfortable seating and strong WiFi connection for getting things done. However, I have to give you a heads up—it’s not a massive space, and you might be sharing it with some hostel guests too. So, it can get pretty packed in no time. If you’re lucky, you might snag a prime spot for yourself.
Snapstay also makes one of the best coffee in hoi an. You’ve got to try their coconut coffee! They also make western-style pastries – our favourite is their mini donuts.
9 Grains Bakery & Cafe HBT

9 Grains Bakery & Cafe HBT in Hoi An is a total gem when it comes to finding a great coffee shop for remote work. With its cooling airconditioning and cozy seating, it’s the perfect spot to set up shop with your laptop or even have a casual meeting.
Now, let’s talk about the star of the show—the food and drinks. 9 Grains Bakery & Cafe HBT offers an incredible range of goodies, including freshly baked treats. Seriously, their Danish is to die for! We can’t get enough of it. They serve up excellent coffee too.
They’ve got you covered with a strong WiFi connection, so you won’t have to worry about any pesky interruptions or slow connections. It’s all about that smooth and uninterrupted workflow, my friend.
They are not the most instagrammable but you can get your job done, no problem.
Dingo Deli

Dingo Deli used to be the go-to-cafe in Hoi An for digital nomads, but it seems like things have changed since the pandemic hit. I couldn’t find any recent reviews about it, so I decided to check it out myself. Here’s the scoop: while some things have stayed the same, like the cool air-conditioned environment and plenty of seating options, there have been a few notable changes.
First off, they no longer have the upstairs seating area or that dedicated work room that everyone used to rave about. Apparently, people weren’t really sharing the space, so they had to shut it down. Instead, they’ve transformed it into a kitchen. There are still lots of seats – indoor and outdoor. However, there is only one long desk dedicated for work with wall plugs.
Don’t worry, the quality of the food is still top-notch, especially when it comes to their Western food. However, you might want to be prepared to spend a bit more compared to your regular coffee place.
So, while Dingo Deli might not be as popular among digital nomads as it used to be, it’s still worth considering if you’re in the mood for a tasty pizza in a cool, air-conditioned setting. Just keep in mind the changes that have taken place post-COVID.
Cafe Sua 2

Sua Cafe is one of our favourite coffee shops in Hoi An. What makes this place special is that by supporting Sua Cafe, you’re directly contributing to a wonderful cause. The owner hires individuals with disabilities, providing them with meaningful employment opportunities. The proceeds from the business also go towards supporting a charity too. The customer service here is top-notch! The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive to your needs.
Our favourite part of this place is their backyard views. Lotus ponds and rice paddy views? Crazy good. Not only do they have plenty of outdoor seats, they also thankfully have a fully airconditioned room. There are plenty of wall plugs for work too. The place is open for 24 hours too, perfect if you need to work late!
Now, let’s talk about the coffee. It’s not just good; it’s absolutely amazing! They even have their own roastery. The food here is completely vegetarian and delicious. But here’s a heads up: because it is so popular among the locals, it can get quite crowded at times. So, if you prefer a quieter work environment, you might want to consider that.
Work Spots without Aircon
In Hoi An, finding AC anywhere is very rare – including cafes. Most of the really nice cafes in Hoi An only have fans and can still be very nice to work from. Keep these in mind for a day with cooler weather. Also, don’t be shy to ask for a fan.

Nourish Eatery is hands down one of our favourite go-to spots. Located on the outskirts of the old town, this little gem offers an escape from the bustling city vibes. The vibes here are on point and super cozy! As soon as you step inside, you’re greeted with cozy nooks, lush greenery, and a touch of rotan.
Nourish Eatery has a second-floor mezzanine that overlooks the bustling first floor. If you’re in the mood for a more focused and desk-friendly area, head on up. But personally, we love working downstairs because it’s cooler and the ambiance is just so inviting. Take your pick and find your sweet spot!
When it comes to food, Nourish Eatery caters to our veggie-loving hearts. If you’re craving a bacon and sausage, this might not be the place for you. We tried their breaky burger and the granola bowl, and they were really delicious. The flavors were on point, and the western-style coffee was great.
Nourish Eatery does close at 4pm, which can be a bit of a bummer if you’re not an early bird. So plan your day accordingly to avoid any workflow interruptions.
Rosie's cafe

Rosie’s Cafe is hands down one of the best cafes in Hoi An for digital nomads, expats, and locals alike. This place is buzzing with good vibes! And it’s no surprise why everyone flocks here. They’ve got ample seating options both outside in the shaded area and inside the place.
Now, let’s talk about the backroom here. It’s an absolute gem for co-workers. They’ve got long bench tables for collaborative sessions and smaller individual ones for when you need some focused me-time. But here’s the deal: brace yourself for this one. The backroom doesn’t have air conditioning. Yep, things can get pretty toasty in there. If you’re an early bird, you can secure a spot right next to the fan and enjoy some refreshing breezes while you hustle away.
Their brunch game is also on fire. They even have some amazing vegan options too! I can’t resist their amazing avocado toast and their mango smoothie bowl.
Sound of Silence

We stumbled upon Sound of Silence on the way to the beach. It’s like a little slice of paradise at Am bang beach, and it really blew us away! Picture this: overseeing the beach, with the soothing sound of waves in the background. Can you imagine a better work setting? This is the only cafe in town that even Hub coworking space members go to every now and then to switch up “rice field view/AC/office chair” for “beach view/ocean breeze”. It’s one of the few places that match the Hub in terms of view.
What’s really impressive about this place is the abundance of seats. Seriously, it’s massive. You’ve got options indoors, outdoors in the shade, and even right by the beach. The view is absolutely breathtaking, something I am willing to trade with the lack of airconditioning here. They’ve got plenty of wall sockets, even at the outdoor seating area. So no need to worry about running out of battery during your work sesh.
They serve up both Vietnamese and Western drinks and food. We had no complaints with the local coffee – they were delicious. But, I did order a toasted BLT, and it didn’t quite hit the spot for me. Their pasta made up for it with its deliciousness.
U Cafe

We are surprised that no one seems to have discovered the hidden gem that is U Cafe for digital nomads in Hoi An. A Japanese woman who calls Vietnam home owns this coffee place, and she has created something truly special. It’s tucked away in a charming alley just outside the ancient town, right next to the river. Talk about an idyllic setting!
It spans across three floors, and each floor is like stepping into a natural oasis. You’re surrounded by lush greenery, beautiful ponds, and yes, even frogs! It’s a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
They also offer good Wi-Fi and plenty of seats to choose from. It’s usually pretty quiet and zen, which helps me stay super productive. They serve up some delicious Vietnamese dishes, coffee and juices that really hit the spot.

- Adaptors: Depending on where you’re from, make sure to bring the necessary adaptors to plug in your devices and charge them without any hassle. Although both US (2-pin) and EU plugs work on almost all outlets.
